Fort Rodd Hill is a National Historic Site located in Greater Victoria that I had visited a few times as a kid, notably as a field trip in elementary school. Dating from the 19th-century, the site of the former fort is now a park and is open to the public. The park is also home to the Fisgard Lighthouse, which was the first lighthouse built on the west coast of Canada. Read more about Fort Rodd Hill on its Wiki page here.
Having not been to Fort Rodd Hill in many years, Danielle and I decided one day to go check it out. While most of the actual exhibits were closed for the winter season, we didn't really care, as we were there mostly for the lighthouse.
